#Momlife can be so very busy, can’t it. The other day I was getting the kids ready for afternoon kindergarten drop off, and I took note of the time so we weren’t late. It was 11:00 am, and I was feeding the kids an early lunch before we pack up the crew to get into the van, which in my household is a 15 minute job in itself (with 4 little ones, you can imagine).
So back to 11:00 am. I thought at that moment, what on earth did I do all morning from 7:00 am (kids’ waking hour) to 11:00 am (lunch and leave hour)?
It boggles my mind that my entire morning was so rushed, so filled with one thing after another, and I couldn’t really think back to anything substantial actually taking place except two things: I did home school with the kids for 1 hour and I folded 2 baskets of laundry. Did those things really take 4 hours to complete? NOPE!
So what did I do for all those other minutes in that 4 hour time block?
Sorry to disappoint you, but I really don’t know!!! HAHAHA, that’s #momlife for you! 🙂
Mom life is unlike any other job.
A typical job in the workfield is rather structured and scheduled with specific tasks to complete.
Mom life is not!
Hours go by every day, and it feels like you got nothing accomplished except you were able to wipe down the sticky table after the kids rubbed playdough all over it moments before!
Even though I can’t say exactly what I did for the past 4 hours that day, I just know looking back I was so busy with taking care of the 4 kids that I never had a moment to sit down.

Life is busy as a mom. Busy with things that might not seem important to anyone else, but it’s important to our kids and their well being.
No matter what takes place in a home filled with children and mom’s busy feet racing around the house, we know that all moms are important and the purpose of their role is much appreciated.
With that being said, our quote for today is
“Let’s not wait for life to slow down to start something new, you just gotta start now.”
I want to leave you with this quote for today and think about it for 3 minutes. What is something that you want to start doing but your busy mommy life is getting in the way?
For me it’s working out more on a consistent basis. This upcoming Friday, I am writing about how exercise and mom life can coexist. Check back Friday for our Focused Friday inspirational post to help you find time to workout during your busy mom schedule.
I know that my life is not going to slow down any time soon. From what I hear, as kids get older, moms get busier carpooling everyone to all their different sports and school activities. More time out of the house makes it difficult to find time to work out. So no excuses over here in my house, I just need to buckle down and get it done.
What one thing did you think about starting? Do you think there is a moment in your day that you can start working towards that one thing? Could you possibly wake up 30 minutes or even an hour earlier and get it accomplished? I know if you were really determined, you definitely could! I want to motivate you to start this one thing today. Maybe eliminate one Netflix show and dedicate that time to “me” time.
If you are passionate about this one thing, it’s not going to just happen without the effort behind it. Only you can make it happen!
Keep Smiling,
Dr. Jena Bradley, DPT
