You want to have more consistency in your workouts.  You’re a mom, but you also want to be fit. You want to be a fit-mom! How are you going to be consistent when your life is chaotic right now? I’m going to help you figure this out so you can enjoy motherhood and fitness in one beautiful blend.

Systemize Your Life

Let’s talk about consistency! Consistency with workouts is so hard, and I definitely struggle with consistency for sure from time to time.

We as moms have so much on our minds and so much on our plate. I want to work out, but I also want to have a clean house; I want to spend time with my kids, and I don’t want to miss the adorable things that they do and experience.

I also don’t want a mess in my house. You and I both have a lot of responsibilities. We have jobs, big projects, and events to plan. I am so thankful for Chelsi-Jo’s Systemize Your Life, a program that helps me keep my life in order, systemized, and organized. I have gained so much time from joining her program. I didn’t have this program when I was a young mom, but if I could recommend a program to moms to help them gain more time in their day, it would be her Systemize Your Life Program. It was a complete game-changer for me.

Use Time Blocking To Have Consistent Workout Habits

This program has taught me how to time block. Time blocking frees up your mind from thinking about all the random things at all random times throughout the day. It’s exhausting. It’s not necessary and won’t help you get anything accomplished any faster. Systemize Your Life has helped me be more consistent with my day-to-day activities in my life, and it’s helped me to be more consistent with my workouts.

Morning Time Block Workout Routines

If it’s the morning, which I highly recommend, I want to think about a time block that is good for you in the morning. Is it the first part of your day before your baby wakes up or is it in the morning a couple hours after your baby wakes up?

Categorize these two time blocks as Morning (before baby wakes up) and AM block (when your baby is awake). Try to get a general feel of what time is better for you to work out in the morning based on your current routine and your baby’s habits. Stick to that same morning block consistently every day and avoid thinking about working out in the later hours of the day.

Midday Time Block Workout Routines

if you prefer to work out in the middle of the day, I want you to try to get it done with your baby during tummy time or do a little mommy and me workout. This is a fun bonding time for you and your baby.

The other option is to work out when your baby naps. If your baby is consistently taking a nap in the middle of the day, I want you to work out immediately after you put your baby down for a nap. Every time you put your baby down at the same time of day midday, you’re going to go straight into your workout.

Evening Time Block Workout Routines

When it comes to working out at the end of the day, whether that’s after dinner or after you put your baby down for bedtime at the end of the night again, I want you to do the same thing you did at naptime. You’re going to put your baby down for the final time of the night and then you’re going to go straight into that workout.

I don’t want you thinking about dishes. I don’t want you to think about cleaning or sitting down and scrolling on your phone and looking at social media. It’s extremely common for moms who are at home with their babies all day feel the need to go on social to feel more connected to society.

So often moms feel the need to just go straight to their phones to scroll social media the moment their baby goes down to sleep. But let’s break that habit and do something good for ourselves because social media is not good for you in any way. We all know that.

Why not immediately just get the workout done right away after baby falls asleep?  And then you can rest after that.

Use A Paper Planner or Calendar To Stay Consistent With Your Workouts

Find that consistency at the same time of day. Your three options are the morning, the middle of the day, and the nighttime. What is going to be the best option for you? Pick the ideal time, but keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be a specific hour. It just has to be a specific time block: morning time block, lunchtime block, or evening time block. This going to help you be more consistent with your workouts.

Now I want you to get your calendar out and mark the days that you want to work out. Are you going to work out three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), or are you going to work out two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)?

Pick the same days of the week, week after week, because I don’t want you thinking about working out all five or seven days of the week. That’s a little overwhelming when you’re just getting started with creating healthy habits

If you want to be more consistent, you need to make it a very simple start.

Take Small Baby Steps To Create Healthy Habits

To create consistent habits, the best way to do that is by taking small baby steps in the right direction.  Let’s get that in our minds right now — once you start a workout habit, you’re never going to stop it. This is a lifelong journey. Even if there is a vacation planned, a sickness that occurs, or a big event you are planning, just know that you will always get back to working out and will continue to grow the fitness habit for a lifetime.

My goal is to live 100. I plan on working out and exercising all the way to the end! If that’s something that you want to do also, then remember never to quit and just keep pushing forward.

I hope I have motivated you today. I hope that you are pumped up to get started and to get your calendar out. Mark the days that you plan on working out and mark your time blocks: morning, lunch, or evening.
