Motivational Monday Post 13-Appreciation
It is a common occurrence in life to face struggles, many of which are difficult to understand. As a mom, there are a lot of ups and down with parenting and childcare. Some days are amazing and filled with joy and laughter and other days can be consumed by discipline and correcting.
Having 4 children can be extremely difficult most days. There’s just not enough “me” to go around. My husband constantly reminds me that God would not give me something that I could not handle.
This inspires me and motivates me to believe in my ability to parent and be a mom of 4 children. My kids are all very young ranging from infant to kindergarten. It’s a handful. I know this season in my life as a mom is only temporary and is obviously challenging right now since half of my kids don’t even understand my words and require me to change their diapers.
I know that even though this is a difficult season in my life, I will learn from it and benefit from the experiences that I face. My skills as a mother have tremendously grown and my ability to multitask has greatly improved since having 4 little ones in my care.
My level of patience has been tested over and over again as a mom. From that, over time I have learned better strategies to regulate my tone, have more self-control and better manage my level of patience with regards to my interactions with my children.
“Appreciate where you are in your journey even if it’s not where you want to be. Every season serves a purpose.”
With the challenges I face every day as a mom, it would be easy to complain. But instead, I express appreciation for my life’s’ experiences and my 4 little blessings that hug me and show me love every day.
In this time of my life when I struggle with the overall management of 4 tiny people at my side, I am so appreciative that I was able to give birth to 4 healthy, beautiful babies, that my children have remained healthy, are well educated, have plenty of food to eat and shelter to keep them warm, that my children are surrounded by a strong Christian community and church and that I get to experience life’s blessings every day with them.
What are you most appreciative of in your life? What type of journey are you going through right now? Is it a difficult journey that you’re in or are you experiencing a joyful journey? I would love to hear from you. Comment below and share your thoughts us!
Keep Smiling,
Dr. Jena Bradley, DPT
