I Am So Honored To Be Nominated For the SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD!!!
What an honor as a new blogger to be recognized and nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Blogging has been an exciting new adventure for me over the past few months. I am new to blogging with my launch date for Live Core Strong being September 21, 2018. It was a thrilling day for me, as it is for any new blogger, to step out and open up for the whole world to read your posts and get to know you on a deeper level.
One area of blogging that has far exceeded my expectations was the development of numerous new connections and friendships that have come about since joining the blogging world. I have met so many fellow mom bloggers in such a short period of time who I can really connect with and relate to on a deeper level. I was never really active with social media prior to blogging, but since social media is so interconnected with blogging, it was inevitable that I would have to step out of my shell and connect with other bloggers. And I am so glad I did! It allowed me to meet Laura Georgieff.

Who Nominated Me?
I am so honored to have been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Laura of Frugal For Luxury. I have had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Laura and experience the wonderful adventures she brings to her blog.
Reading her blog and getting to know Laura has been so inspiring. She and her husband want their 3 children to experience many of life’s adventures when traveling around the world. “Life is just one big adventure.” Laura loves sharing about their luxury family travels in hopes for her readers to discover and experience different destinations as they travel to exotic destinations.
Laura’s efforts behind her blog are so appreciated by her readers and myself. She is a great example of what other bloggers should strive to be like. Laura is so deserving of winning this award. I humbly would like to thank you, Laura, for the nomination of the Sunshine Blogger Award.
The Sunshine Blogger Award is a way to recognize, support, and encourage fellow bloggers. Within the award, the nominee must answer a series of questions. Now onto the questions! Such fun questions composed by Laura.
My Answers….
1. If you could sit down for 5 minutes and have a talk with anyone to have ever lived, who would it be? Anything specific you would ask?
This was an easy one for me to answer! I would love to meet Jesus! I am a faith-filled woman who raises my children to be followers of Jesus. My 4 little girls ask me a bunch of questions every day about who Jesus is, what he looks like, what would Jesus do, what is Heaven like? I answer the questions to the best of my ability, and I reference the Bible every time when I provide them with an answer. But some of those questions that little kids ask are HARD to answer. Right? I would love to sit down with Jesus to ask him the child-like questions but also to talk to him about some of those difficult questions that we all know we have. I would also like to just give Him the biggest bear hug imaginable!
2. State 3 fun facts about yourself!
A. My dad was a pilot for a commercial airline so I grew up flying on an airplane all my childhood life. I even flew by myself for the first time when I was 7 years old and continued to fly by myself throughout my childhood.
B. When I was 15 years old, I got my first job working at Subway. I couldn’t drive yet so I had to walk a mile each way in the Erie, PA snow! See, it’s not just your grandparents who walked a mile to school each day in the snow, uphill!
C. For all four of my pregnancies we decided not to find out the gender of the baby. We were completely surprised when were blessed with a girl all 4 times! Now my house is filled with 4 beautiful little girls (all about 2 years apart).
3. Where was your most memorable trip?
Disney World. I know it sounds cliche. I have been to Disney World several times as a child and as a young adult. BUT-going there with your own children is a totally new experience! I have traveled to many exotic places, but seeing the pure joy of your kids experiencing everything there is to experience at Disney World is uncomparable from all the other places I have traveled to go visit. I know a lot of people get stressed and exhausted when it comes to Disney vacations, but there IS A WAY to make the Disney World vacation magical for you and your children.
4. What is your favorite food?
I know you would probably expect me to say something along the lines of a healthy food item, but, nope! I LIKE ICE CREAM! Not sure what it is about the ice cream, but it is my go-to splurge food! You can’t go wrong when you have so many flavors to choose from. My top picks are double chocolate fudge, cherry chocolate chip and mint!
5. Why did you start blogging?
God really was leading me to pursue blogging. If I would look back a year ago and said I was going to be a blogger, I probably would laugh. I am a physical therapist and a mom, isn’t that enough? Well, no, God had another plan for me. He put someone completely unexpected into my husband’s path one day at my children’s swim school and after a quick exchange of “hi’s, hello’s and what are you up to now-a-days?”, I eventually learned about his and his wife’s blog. I never even knew what a blog was. So I checked out their blog, learned briefly what blogging is all about and within 24 hours I knew God was telling me to take a leap of faith and create a blog that would help moms who are in need of a medical professional’s advice on fitness, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting tips. From there Live Core Strong was born. The interesting thing is that I always said my greatest weakness in school was writing – and now I am writing every day of the week! It is interesting how God can take your shortcomings or feelings of inadequacy and turn them into strengths!
6. If you were gifted a 2-week vacation, where would you go?
HAWAII! I knew the answer to this question right away! I have never been to Hawaii even after all my travels. This is a dream vacation for me. I have met lots of other travelers who have gone to Hawaii and watched many TV shows about this destination but have never stepped foot on the islands. Someday I know I will get there and enjoy it with my family. I would love to cruise around to the different islands to see as much as possible in the time I have there.
7. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you call home?
This is a sentimental question for me. I would live right where I am at now! I love my home and I love my home town. What makes Washington, PA special for me is it’s a place where my husband grew up and a place with my husband’s father created their family physical therapy practice. Family is so important to me, and I would never want to leave them. I also have created such wonderful memories in my home where I live now. It’s our first home. I never plan on leaving this home and will continue to make lasting memories with my children and my husband in our forever home!
8. What’s your comfort food?
If it isn’t ice cream, it’s pizza. Plain and simple – cheese pizza. I like New York style pizza – the best. Both of my parents are from the New York City area, so I was raised with that style pizza. I could probably eat as many as 3 or 4 slices in one sitting if I was really hungry!
9. If you could choose any super power, what would it be?
I would love to have the ability of Hawk Girl so that I could heal everyone. Obviously with my profession as a physical therapist, I love helping people recover from their ailments. To be able to heal every person who is suffering would feel so rewarding!
10. What was your dream job as a kid?
I actually wanted to be a pet photographer! I loved taking pictures of my dogs and I always thought it would be so much fun to be a photographer for a greeting card company that only had pets on the cards. Sounds fun in my opinion. I’m a pet lover.
11. Cold or hot weather destinations?
This was a tough one for me to answer because I honestly like both but if I was to choose one I think I would go with hot weather destinations. There are beautiful places to see in cold weather destinations but I am a romantic when it comes to sunsets and long walks on the beach. And the food – hot weather destinations got that beat! Enjoying a beautiful boat ride with the WARM air running through your hair is much more enjoyable in my opinion than a brisk ferry ride up north.

Wow! This is ironic; I was just nominated for a Sunshine Blogger Award too! Of course, your questions were very different from the ones that I answered, but it was one of the most fun and flattering things anyone has ever done for our blog. Thanks for sharing your passion for what you do.
Thanks, and congratulations to you as well!
Hawk girl is a great answer! And I love that you wanted to be a pet photographer because that’s the most specific kid dream job I’ve ever heard. Knowing you, you will make it to Hawaii one day!
Jessica, one day I’ll get there…Hawaii!!
