“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.”
–Lou Holtz
When I read this quote for today I think about different scenarios that have occurred in my life when I have complained about something. Did I have the right to complain? No, I surely did not.
Everyone has different ways to react to a situation of stress. What is your natural tendency when you are faced with a challenge? What do you do when your load is heavy and weighs you down?
You might be thinking of “workload” as in a lot of assignments that must be completed at work before your work day is over. Or maybe you have a lot on your plate at home taking care of the kids and the house. Or maybe it’s just a really hard workout that you’re wanting to give up on.
Whatever it is, I motivate you today to change your mindset. Don’t complain, but feel encouraged to work through the challenge. Don’t let something tear you apart, rather use that challenge as a way to make you stronger, wiser and better than you were before.
Keep Smiling,
Dr. Jena Bradley, DPT
